Finally dad headed to the rental house at the edge of Beijing where mom is renting at 400 RMB per month. It is reeaaallly rural and beautiful, surrounded by water and woods. They may got here by subway, then bus, then little bus, then tractor, then tricycle. The next door neighbors are their high school friends, also a sweet couple. Mom has been trying to talk him to come here out of the big modern city. Dad was stubborn, not wanting to change. Ha now I know where I've got the stinky attitude from. Mom is very thrilled, all she does all day is probably taking pictures and videos of him cooking, cleaning, fixing stuff, and whatever he's doing. I'm happy that he's finally given up the grip of the city pollution and television to the fresh air and nature. Life is very simple in the countryside. The first picture is their breakfast, some pickled veggies, pickled eggs, and porridge. That green leaf covered rice cake is for the celebration of May fifth in lunar calendar. Look at the dumplings the two couples made for lunch. I guess mom is afraid that I'm not starving enough for home food. She keeps sending happy food shots. Glad they are enjoying life. For a couple who have been fighting through their entire marriage, this is a big step. Maybe they eventually realized that they couldn't live without each other, only after 41 years since May 1st, 1983 before I was even a fertilized egg.
