Damper Wire Offset By The Strut

8/8/2025

This is a figured-out-by-self note after all sorts of failures and damages. I do wish to learn how factories and other workshops offset the wires by the plate strut. What damages have been made? All that one can think of.
(German practice on the first paragraph: Diese Methode habe ich selbst herausgefunden. Ich möchte gerne erfahren was die Manufakturen und die andere Werkstätten machen. Ich habe so viele Teile zerstört, die man sich vorstellen kann.)
Place the damper head flat where it does not rub the plate, also closest to its own guide rail hole, its own hole! Measure the distance from the damper wire to the guide rail hole. This distance will be the offset distance. The first wire bend is towards the hole. The bend is as close as possible to the damper head, parallel to the damper head bottom. From the first bend to the second bend is the offset distance just measured. Work carefully, measure and dry run for several times, because the wire can break after being bent back and forth. Then this wire and be regulated just like the non offset ones.
