Hiking friend Joe and I decided to hike the last 14 miles of Bay Circuit Trail north for his fund racing marathon training. We car spotted from Willowdale State Forest in Ipswich to northern terminus of the trail at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Newburyport. It was mostly road walking with some trails in the woods. But boy it was so beautiful especially on a sunny day like this. Our speed was 2.5-2.7 miles per hour road walking, stopping at Tendercrop Farm to enjoy fresh fruits and some drink. For the entire 14 miles, we didn't feel fatigued at all, just kept walking and cracking jokes to each other. Haven't seen him for months, there were a lot of hiking info and news to catch up on. Last stop, 0.1 miles from the northern terminus, goats and horses were having a good time at Spencer Peirce Little Farm. We could smell manure from them about 1/2 mile away. Tough life, Eh? Many thanks to Joe Massery, fantastic hiker and AMC hiking trip leader. Hopefully we'll walk and catch up soon on another part of this trail.
